- Item: Three Counties Asylum fireman's helmet.
- Description: The helmet is in very good condition for its age with the original liner, straps and brass buckle. Some time in its past it had been highly polished and lacquered, however it had a tired look because the lacquer had cracked and tarnished with age. The old lacquer was gently removed and then the helmet was sympathetically re-polished to shine once again. Merryweather Fireman's Outfitters of London only ever supplied eight of these helmets to TCA, which makes them a very rare and valuable artefact.
