- Item: Three Counties Hospital cricket ball trophy.
- Description: This is a very unique item. It's a cricket ball trophy. The Three Counties Hospital had a very top class cricket team that played not only local teams but teams from all over the country. This ball was presented to Eric Bircumshaw for outstanding playing. It is engraved: To Eric Bircumshaw for scoring a hat trick against R.A.F. Shefford on the 24th August 1944. In 1950 the Americans took over the R.A.F. base and renamed it U.S.A.F Chicksands. This was after a 12th century Gilbertine monastery that once stood in its grounds, Cricket is still played on the original pitch at Fairfield Park, which was laid in 1862.
